Being Pregnant
Pregnant Model Walks Runway Naked at London Fashion Week
I admitted last week that I was hesitant about walking down the runway during New York City’s Fashion Week, especially because I was doing it 37 weeks pregnant. I am swollen and very self concious, so imagine my fear when I knew I’d be walking in front of hundreds of on-lookers, and that’s with clothes on!
A London glamour model had nothing to fear as she glowed down the runway during London’s Fashion week, completely nude! The former Miss Wales, Sophia Cahill, is eight months pregnant and walked the catwalk with four other nude models to debut a designer’s collection of fashionable hats.
Robin Coles, the designer of the hats, told the Daily Mail that she really wanted Cahill, a friend of hers, to walk the runway during her show.
“‘She was one person I knew would be more than happy to get her kit off. I thought it would be nice she would be pregnant for the show. You never see that kind of thing in fashion.”
It is true, it’s very rare to see a visibly pregnant woman walk the runway, but it’s even more rare to see one walk the runway naked.
The designer admitted to wanting her models walking in nothing but the hats for publicity. ”As an unknown designer you have to find ways of getting people to your show,” she said.
People are certainly talking about it, that’s for sure. While I can understand her need for publicity, I’m not sure if people were going to be paying much attention to her hats as much as they were the naked men and women that were walking across the catwalk.
I give Cahill a lot of credit for strutting her pregnant body down the runway at eight months pregnant. I hardly had the guts to do it with maternity clothes, but she is showing off everything and I think she looks beautiful doing it. More fashion designers should embrace the pregnant body and show it off during fashion week, clothed or not!
What do you think of her walking the runway naked eight months pregnant?

Hannah commented on Feb 21 12 at 5:00 pmI think it’s awesome. I couldn’t take my children, not sure id take my male relatives, but I think I would have honestly enjoyed the show: hats, nude beauty, preggo, statements and all. Very empowering I think, though not the art form for everyone understandably.
Loo commented on Feb 22 12 at 2:08 pmI think this is superb! Excellent showing women as they look during pregnancy, not super skinny, a real size as real women x
Gordon Mathis commented on Feb 22 12 at 8:47 pmI dont think she is pregnant.
Momma commented on Mar 07 12 at 11:32 pmYes! I was so comfortable with my pregnant body…not so much with my post baby body, 18 months later & still working on it
jennifer Udell commented on Mar 07 12 at 11:37 pmI think its fantastic! Women are gorgeous when they are pregnant..
Jennifer Miller commented on Mar 07 12 at 11:44 pmTo each there own… But why?? I just don’t personally understand why anybody would walk in public nude..
rosemary commented on Mar 07 12 at 11:50 pmI’d like to see the naked preg. woman to see if she’s really preg. She probably doesn’t look very pregnant. If it’s true, I think it’s a good thing. We see show much partial nudity on tv already. It’s time to see women at their best; carrying life :)
Sharley commented on Mar 07 12 at 11:57 pmI am not sure where I stand on this one I know that I wouldn’t have done it, but I can say it is kind of nice seeing a model as a real person. I looked up the photos from the event and believe it or not models get stretch marks too!!!
Theresa commented on Mar 08 12 at 12:03 amI think I would feel more comfortable walking down the runway naked while pregnant rather than when I am not pregnant. Your body is constantly changing which only gives yourself the time to embrace the changes. You don’t so much have the time to get to know the flaws you may have. In fact, the best part is you do not have to worry about sucking in your tummy! I would love to be a part of a naked pregnant runway show now that I think of it. It is a great opportunity to strut your womanly figure!

Valerie commented on Mar 08 12 at 12:46 amWell I googled lol and found out it is true (http://secondwednesday.com/naked-pregnant-model-walks-runway-in-london/) I would not beable to walk down a runway naked period…..not even fully clothed for that matter lol! However I loved how I looked pregnant :-)
Joy commented on Mar 08 12 at 12:51 amClick the link, people…geez. She’s extremely pregnant but still looks gorgeous.
Samantha H commented on Mar 08 12 at 9:41 amI love how they announce that a pregnant woman walked down the runway like it was something so ghastly. This just in…..two headed alien struts the runway at New York’s fashion week! She’s pregnant, millions of women are pregnant every year. What’s the big deal? Why do they act like it’s something so unspeakable? Now being completely nude walking down the runway, well I’m no prude but I think that borders on sensationalism, not an honest attempt to draw attention to the fashion item.
