Being Pregnant
Body Art and Pregnant Bellies: Tattoos and Motherhood
I am a big fan of body art and love tattoos. I love the stories behind them, the way they change over time and can truly highlight some important memories in life. For me my tattoos are centered around loss, motherhood and growth and I plan to get quite a few more.
Anytime I see a tattoo I find myself intrigued and love to see the details and hear the stories behind them. I was surfing Facebook a couple of weeks ago and came across a post that caught my eye. Birth Without Fear featured a post on their website of reader-submitted tattoos — I clicked over and was immediately in love with the images.

nappingkat commented on Feb 21 12 at 9:03 pmYou aren’t supposed to get tattooed while pregnant or nursing, that’s basically putting toxins in your blood stream, heavy metals, etc. These mamas must have all gotten theirs done before getting preggo, right? Any legit tattoo artist would never tattoo someone that knew they were pregnant. The risks are too great. I am looking forward to getting tattoos for my kids ages 3 and 1 but have been continuously pregnant and/or nursing for 4 years! Hopefully this summer I can get inked for my babies.
