Being Pregnant
Incredible Pregnancy Body Art
There is something so incredibly beautiful about a pregnant body. While I sometimes find it hard to come to grips with the physical changes my body makes during pregnancy, I can’t help but love my beautiful bump.
There are so many creative ways to show off your baby bump, but painting your entire body is probably one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I came across artist and photographer, Vanessa Wayne’s, artwork on Facebook and was immediately blown away with the incredible detail of her work on a pregnant woman’s body.
Instead of painting just the belly, like most of us are used to seeing, Vanessa uses the entire body as her canvas. All of her artwork is done by hand and usually takes approximately 4 hours to complete. She describes the experience as “very relaxing” for the moms-to-be.

Rachel commented on Feb 02 12 at 2:49 pmI think a pregnant figure is beautiful but these are seriously laughable. I don’t think they show off the women’s figures at all– instead its a silly paintings and poses. A solid color and tasteful pose would have looked better. I’d stick to tasteful photography sans the art, if I were these ladies.
Kristine commented on Feb 02 12 at 11:47 pmI agree pregnant women are beautiful but this is just over the top, cheesy and lame.
nicole commented on Feb 03 12 at 7:56 amSo when should we expect you’re debut??? LOL!!!!!
lorraine commented on Feb 03 12 at 12:57 pmmost of these are based on a mother and baby theme or on other classic pieces of art like The kiss, for example i think they are beautiful and more important these mothers to be are glowing
Jane commented on Feb 03 12 at 2:19 pmI think they are absolutely lovely images

TK commented on Feb 03 12 at 4:27 pmI think some of them are beautiful, but I’m not a fan of the silly painted faces ones (though the one with the stock and sunshine face I like). I really like how she was able to incorporate the paintings with the family and couple – that’s different! The mother and baby giraffe one is my fave.
JO commented on Feb 04 12 at 9:20 amI think this is a very creative way to express pregnancy. All of the images are beautiful! :)
JennAtFFP commented on Feb 07 12 at 11:40 amI love this, especially the Christmas themed body paint but no way on God’s green earth am I gonna let anyone paint AND photograph me naked (preggers or not)! lol
*Yes, you may call me a prude but those ladies are seriously brave for allowing themselves to be painted and photographed this way and most especially for allowing the photographer to display the work online where stuff lives forever!*
Crystal commented on Feb 08 12 at 5:53 pmThey are cool, but huh?? Most of the images really don’t have anything to do with being pregnant? I do think the Christmas one is adorable since it implies the baby is a Christmas present…
Maybe I’m missing the point of the photos…but aren’t they supposed to be about the pregnancy?
Twink commented on Feb 08 12 at 6:11 pmAs one of the lucky mums in these pictures I can honestly say that it was one of the most enjoyable moments in my life! I have also known the artist all my life so was already at ease with her, but my husband was of course a little reluctant but he appreciates the art Vanessa creates, and for previous commenters, like beauty art is in the eye of the beholder. Whilst I am indeed naked, I never felt that way one the paint was applied. Personally I think this is one of the most beautiful photos there is of me and my husband, which captures a very specific time in our lives, the end of our life as a two.
Gerri commented on Feb 08 12 at 6:25 pmI love the ‘giraffe’s Mother’s Love’ one. I think they are all very unique although I must agree I am not keen on the silly painted faces. I would definitely love to be bodypainted next time I am pregnant
