What Your Pregnancy Cravings Say About You

cravings 300x213 What Your Pregnancy Cravings Say About YouWith each of my pregnancies I craved very specific things: With Big P all I wanted was orange juice, with Princess R I ate my weight in onion rings, and with Babe E all I wanted were those fuzzy peach gummy candies. Though the cravings were seemingly random, I truly believed at the time that my body knew what it needed and would drive me crazy until I consumed it (yes, even if that “it” were gummies).

But now, looking back, I’m starting to wonder: Are our cravings really reflective of what our bodies need or more reflective of our personalities? Here’s what I believe our pregnancy cravings say about us …

01 What Your Pregnancy Cravings Say About You

Craving: Pickles & Ice Cream
What it says about you: You like to do things by the book. If others before you said pickles and ice cream was the best pregnancy indulgence they ever had, you take their word for it and follow suit.

When I was pregnant, I craved watermelon like CRAZY!!! I also craved baked potatoes on occasion, red velvet cake, and in the beginning all I wanted was Chinese food.

I craved slurpies and regular coca cola. I also ate bologna sandwiches with pickle but I think that was after I had my sweet daughter.

I craved fruit especially watermelon and strawberries. I also had major cravings for pizza and Mexican food. I had a little girl who weighed 7 lbs., 12 oz. and was 20″long.

I craved pizza alot, and tacos and nachos :) Also coca-cola, but I am a coca-cola addict anyway, lol.

My 1st pregnancy I craved watermelon and then I started eating Doritos ans couldn’t stop. With my 2nd child it was all about Reeses P-B cups. Then with my 3rd child I just couldn’t get enough liquids! I’d have a box of 24 Popsicle and that would only last 2-3 days. Milk, water, juices, nothing helped. Not even sucking on ice chips. When my was old enough he just loved Doritos! My daughter just loved her Reeses cups and my baby girl, well she drank alot too!

I craved breads (carbs) & taco bell with my first son. This one was more cheese and tomatoes in the second tri-mester, then pineapple chunks came to the picture being the only thing I wanted for a lil bit, but now, pretty much ANYTHING is good. Half the time I don’t even know what I want to eat just put something in my belly. Liquids…? Can’t get enough BARGS rootbeer & SUNKIST orange soda. And water of course.. Just those sodas… Taste awesome during this pregnancy. I never liked orange soda prior to this pregnancy, & usually any rootbeer would work, but nope ONLY BARGS!!. :)

With my son, I craved Taco Bell bean and cheese burritos… I would eat there 3 to 4 times a week! Later during my pregnancy I craved Cup of Noodles for breakfast, lol. I loved salty, and I am not a salty-food eating person. However, during my first few weeks of pregnancy, I ate my weight in Chili Cheese fries, and after that you couldn’t get me anywhere NEAR a french fry. The smell alone would make me want to puke. My son is 4 years old now, and he LOVES french fries!

i craved crab legs and garlic mashed potatoes while i was preggo with my son. i had potatoes all the time but even tho i craved them constantly, i only had the crab legs few times. he came out a very healthy 10lb 8oz and 24in long.

I didn’t crave anything and no I didn’t have or was using a surrogate Whatever that is… I think I didn’t get cravings because someone that’s close to me got them for me. I didn’t get alot of pregnancy symptoms. I did however hated the smell of sea food which didn’t really bother me being how I always hated sea food anyways. I also hate/ couldn’t stand the smell of Papaya salad before I could stand the smell. Other than that I seemed as if I wasn’t pregnant. I also didn’t know I was in labor (having contractions) when I was because I didn’t know that, that could happen when your water don’t break ’til a few minutes before your baby is delivered (born).

I craved Frosty’s from Wendy’s. They are made with 2% milk so that was my milk intake since I can’t stand milk. But my son doesn’t really care for frosty’s. I ate alot of mexican food and the hotter the better, he does love hot food and now I can’t stand it very hot. Good luck everyone.

The strangest thing I wanted this pregnancy (my 3rd pregnancy) was Chinese take out… shrimp fried rice to be exact. My first pregnancy (my son) I craved any and all pasta. I was making spaghetti every other day and lasagna at least once a week! My second with my first daughter I always wanted ben and jerry’s ice cream and take five candy bars… I have craved ben and jerry’s a few times this time around also and this will be our second daughter. Must be a girl thing lol
