Fascinating Examples of Birth Art
In case you don’t read Strollerderby (What? You don’t know what you’re missing!) I wanted to draw your attention to a most excellent post by my colleague, Sunny Chanel.
She has gathered 22 fascinating examples of birth art. From paintings to sculptures to, well, I don’t know what you’d call some of the stuff she’s got going on over there. Nonetheless, it’s interesting to look at, that’s for sure.
Everyone has a different interpretation of childbirth. From the morbid to the stunningly beautiful, every emotion is expressed in the artistic endeavors.
Interestingly, there are no photographs in the mix. Although the paintings are beautiful, I think I prefer childbirth photographs most of all. The sculptures, particularly one that you’re about to see, tend to seem weird to me. But sculptures are deeply rooted in artistic history and so, in their way, they are beautiful.
Check out the images below and if you’re interested, click on over to Sunny’s post to see all 22 images.
