01 246x300 10 Gender Cake Reveals Gone WrongA big trend that I am noticing lately is the big-deal themes for announcing the gender of your child just after the mid-pregnancy ultrasound. Not only are people posting daily countdowns to the “big ultrasound” but planning gender reveal parties is the thing now.

These parties happen sometime after 17 weeks after the gender of the baby has been confirmed via ultrasound. The family gets together (like a baby shower) and all learn the sex of the baby in some cute and/or fun way. Some reveal the gender through decorations, clever activities and some use the cake to tell the news.

Click through to see 10 ways to NOT decorate your cake for your baby-to-be’s gender reveal:

The lady bug butt cake is actually a lady bug monster crawling out of the cake with a snaggle tooth. You’re welcome for changing your life. :)

I think the lady bug house thingy might be a baby’s bottom. It looks like legs with toes coming out on either side…so maybe it’s a diaper cover? Idk lol either way it’s interesting!

Laney commented on Dec 01 11 at 4:17 pm

I’m sure the lady bug is a booty and the legs are on the side..lol…still creepy.

The little bottle on the naked baby backside looks like it could be a tiny winky

we did a gender reveal cake…. it was cute! we had them do the inside pink or blue and we cut the cake to find out! the only ppl who knew ahead of time was the ultrasound tech and the lady who made the cake! :) oh and it was a girl! she turned a month old yesterday!

I think the first one(bikini) is cute if i ts to reveal to a group of girlfriends but maybe not grandma! I luved the 6th one (boy). Its very sweet and fitting. I’m sureno one will be grossed out by the butt….atleast no mature person. The lady bug one is girlie and cute so I think it works. And all though I don’t do star wars I think any fan would absolutley love the last cake :-)
