20 Kids And Counting...

Guess they’re going to have to change the name of their reality show again.

20 Kids And Counting.

Mother of 19, Michelle Duggar, announced on the TODAY show that she is expecting her twentieth child.

As Rebecca Dube reports, Michelle Duggar and her husband Jim Bob revealed the big news this morning.

“We are so excited,” Michelle Duggar told TODAY moments before the broadcast. Now three and a half months pregnant, the mom of 19 says she was actually surprised to discover that she’s expecting again at 45. “I was not thinking that God would give us another one, and we are just so grateful.”

Michelle, who says “there’s always room for one more” is due in April. When Ann Curry asked if this would be the Duggars last child Michelle responded with “We’ll see…however many the lord sees fit to give us.”

The super-sized family stars in its own reality TV show, “19 Kids and Counting,” on TLC. The couple are also grandparents to son Josh and his wife Anna’s two children.

You might remember, their last baby, Josie, was born prematurely after Michelle was diagnosed with preeclampsia. Josie Brooklyn was a mere 1 lb. 6 oz. when she was born at 25 weeks. Josie is healthy and doing well. Here’s hoping this pregnancy goes a lot better for Michelle Duggar. You can catch the season finale of “19 Kids and Counting” tonight on TLC

What are your thoughts about a family having this many children, even if, as the Duggars appear to be, they all seem happy and well adjusted?

How sad, for so many reasons.

Just too many kiddos at least for me. They would all be raising each other rather then the parents. How do you give twenty kids equal attention or even close?

I can’t even fathom having 20 children! That is a heck of a lot of kids. I think that my max would be 6.

So many people are too quick to judge this family. They are not on welfare, they have NO debt, they do not watch tv. They spend more time teaching their children and having quality time with their kids then most families of only 2 or 3 children do. They are an amazing example of true Christian faith. Their older kids participate in their community weather it be with the volunteer firefighting or doing mission trips to other countries. Maybe having that many kids isn’t for everyone but we could all take some tips from this family. On one other note, I’ve seen lots of snarky comments about Michelle not breastfeeding for long enough, when in reality she does breastfeed for at least the first year, but she is one of the exceptions to the rule, and still gets pregnant earlier than most.

I think God has blessed them tremendously. They are self-supporting – actually spending time with their children and teaching them the Godly way. I help to raise children where “dad” has left a long time ago, so seeing a family do it right is wonderful. God Bless you even more…
