Being Pregnant

Please Excuse Me While I Change My Bra… Again

photo3 300x300 Please Excuse Me While I Change My Bra... AgainToday’s public service announcement comes to you from my breasts.

Um, apparently having my bladder leak after housing a 9 lb 6 oz child isn’t enough fun for me. I get to have my breasts leaking while I’m in the FIRST trimester of this pregnancy with my second child.

Y’all are jealous, I know. Please try and contain yourselves. Apparently there’s enough of this joy to go around for the next 6+ months.

I’ve been pregnant before and I feel like I’m fairly savvy when it comes to knowing what is going on with my body. BUT JEEZ!!! Really?!?! It’s necessary for me to be leaking from my boobs, NOW?!?

I was prepared for my hips to ache because duh, they’re widening. I knew that my face would breakout because hormonal adult acne is super hot right now. And I was even ready (somewhat) for the nausea that my body has been enduring lately. But dangit all, to see my boobs leaking at this stage in the game… NOT something I was prepped for.

I guess my hormones are just that cool and my boobs are overachievers. They are so cool that they can’t possibly contain themselves and hold off until I’m close to birthing this child. No, no, let’s start the party now!

So when you see some chick-a-dee in Babies-R-Us buying breast pads, and she looks like she *may* be pregnant but it must be early in the pregnancy because she isn’t enormous yet, try not to give her the stink-eye for her purchase. Just remember that you read this post and do in deed know someone who is leaking from their boobs in the first trimester.

And feel free to even pull her aside and say, “ZOMG i read this blog post about leaky boobs in the first trimester. It’s not just you!”

Think about it this way… leaking boobs are a very good sign that this pregnancy is progressing quite nicely. Also, let’s all be glad it’s you and not me. :D

Ugh, I dealt with the same thing, starting at 13 weeks. Mine had a bit of blood in it, and my doc said it was normal.. she called them “rusty pipes”. Um, wtf?

Wow, I googled “rusty pipes pregnancy” and apparently it’s a real syndrome, not just my crazy doctor making stuff up.

@KATE- ohmygod!!! i don’t even know how to respond to that, but wanted you to know that i am sitting in front of my laptop with my jaw to the floor.
