Attempts at Being Fashionable in My 39th Week
Objects in picture are not as they appear. Achieving fashion in the 9th month is much more than meets the eye.
Dressing my pregnant figure in the 9th month has become a daily challenge as less and less will appropriately cover my growing body. I am irritable, fatigued, and suffering through all of the unpleasant side effects that come with late pregnancy but, being a fashion blogger (at least, I am when I’m not soooo sleepy), I must rise to the occasion and treat this like my own version of Project Runway.
That old saying “look good, feel good” is my mantra and with a little bit of determination and a lot of creativity, I managed to repurpose my normal clothing to accommodate this whole “situation”. Let me break it down for you…
That maxi dress looking thing that you see to your left is not quite a maxi dress…..well it is and it isn’t. See, it’s actually a strapless maternity top and a non-maternity maxi dress that has been turned into a skirt (of sorts).
In a past life, that "skirt" was this maxi dress.
The maxi dress alone was not up the task of handling my latest boobilicious “endowments” (at least not in a way that I’m comfortable with) so I tucked down the top part and wore it as a skirt. A trick I learned from the ever-stylish Melissa Jordan of Dear Baby Blog who documented her pregnancy style beautifully (albeit in a restroom).
I’m hoping that I’ll go into labor soon-ish and not much more creative fashion on my part will be necessary but it’s fun for the time being.

Samantha at ShesNotBroken commented on Sep 17 11 at 9:50 pmYou look much happier than I did. I have a photo of me wedged in a booth at Taco Bell the night my water broke. I think I wore the same maternity dress, washed and dried, the whole last week I was pregnant.
