I Suppose I Should Pack My Hospital Bag

What else could my hospital bag need besides him?

I’m having a baby in 4 days.

I suppose I should pack my hospital bag.

I feel so unprepared and far behind when it comes to being on top of things for this delivery. Is that normal the second time around?

It isn’t just the hospital bag either. It’s everything.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that we decided on a name.
I finally have some diapers.
Yesterday my husband assembled the crib that was delivered on Monday.
We still need to get the car seat in the car.
I never did tour the maternity ward.

I think by month six of my pregnancy with my first son I was more than prepared to bring him home. This time? I feel like I’m just sort of riding out the pregnancy and letting things just happen.

The weird part is I don’t really feel worried that it won’t all fall into place.

But I am heading to the hospital in just 4 days and I should probably pack at least something into that bag.

I sort of have a list of things I want to put in there.

Nightgown.
Something really comfy to wear that isn’t a hospital gown.
Going home outfit for me.
Going home outfit for the baby.
Slippers.
Undies and nursing bra.

Toothbrush & Toothpaste
Soap & Shampoo
Deodorant
Styling Clay (for my short hair)
Powder/Blush/Etc. (which will probably never be used)
Medications

Phone
Camera
Memory Card
Laptop
Chargers (for all electronics)
Big Brother Gift for my first son
Contact List

I’m sure I’ll overpack. I do for everything.

But is there something I’m missing? What is a must have for your hospital bag?

I also brought a book (just one since it was The Dark Tower 7. Really long, you know) and some snacky munchie foods. Like dried mangos and a tub of dried cherries dipped in chocolate.

I packed a diaper bag for the new baby! We made several stops on the way home! Aslo bottles & formula if your not nursing! Light blanket. Oh and chapstick, my lips were always dry after each kid!
