I craved an invitation when I saw pictures of this beautifully styled gender reveal party—and not just because I also crave cake like the pregnant woman I am.

A refreshing step away from the typical blue-and/or-pink theme, the muted greens and grays of this party create a look that’s not only gender neutral, but also classy and cute. And one that’s easy to replicate with glass, succulents, ceramics and cream-colored goodies.

Christine and Nicola from The Pretty Blog, with help from Anelle at Seven Swans, are the parties responsible for bringing together this not-too-babyish but totally adorable celebration. You might not even know it’s a baby-centered event save the eye-catching bunting proclaiming the question of the hour (and entire pregnancy), “Boy or Girl?”

In fact, the only blue at the party was inside the cake. (Any guesses on what the couple’s having?) I like that the all-revealing color is in the frosting so the cake still looks appetizing. The team also whipped up a couple games and downloads—including bunting!—for the party, that you can download on their blog. Awesome!

Do you plan to throw a party when you find out the gender? I couldn’t pull it off, but it sure sounds fun. Then again, I’m always one for a good surprise involving as many people as possible—especially myself like this cake idea allows. If you thinking about it and need more ideas, check out these reveal party invitations and other “sex parties.
