Our Big Little Announcement: Boy or Girl?

gender reveal Our Big Little Announcement: Boy or Girl?

We shared our news this morning on and at the beach.

I thought it might be fun to do some sort of “gender reveal” celebration following our 20-week ultrasound, but we had a rough day on Friday and a last-minute wrench was thrown into our plans.

As we headed out for a vacation on Saturday, we were short on supplies but we were also on our way to the beach. And what better place to … spell it out?

So that’s just what we did.

This morning when the tide was high, my husband and I went to the shore and used a stick to write our baby’s gender onto the wet sand. Then we added a few sticks with streamers.

There’s a boardwalk that stretches from the beach house where we’re staying out onto a little hill overlooking the beach. It’s a perfect overlook. We invited family members to come meet us on the beach, and when they arrived at the deck on top of the hill this is what they saw! We also took that opportunity to spray them with appropriately-colored Silly String.

Hooray! The kiddos celebrated by running straight into the water. So did my husband.
