4th of July Cocktails for Momma
We live in a neighborhood where each year several families get together and shoot off what amounts to a pretty impressive fireworks display. So impressive that we don’t bother battling the crowds to see the fireworks put on by the city. We just kick back in our own yard and enjoy the show.
Normally I would do that with a margarita in hand. Not this year. Instead I will be watching the fireworks and celebrating the Fourth of July with one of these yummy mocktails from my favorite little red book, Mr. Boston’s Official Bartender’s and Party Guide.
If you are expecting perhaps you will raise your glass in celebration with one of these tasty beverages too.
Strawberry Wonderland
1 oz. Coconut Cream
2 oz. Frozen Strawberries
3 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Sour Mix
Put all ingredients in a blender with ice and blend until smooth. Top with whipped cream and a strawberry garnish.
Flamingo
4 oz. Cranberry Juice
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
2 oz. Club Soda
Shake juices with ice and strain into a tall glass. Top with club soda and stir. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Summertime Barbarian
1/2 cup Fresh Strawberries
1/2 cup Fresh Pineapple
1/2 cup Grapefruit Juice
Combine ingredients in blender with ice and blend until smooth.
Don’t these all sound delicious? I bet the kids and those that opt to celebrate without alcohol would love to see any of these at your Fourth of July BBQ. What do you think?
What are you mixing up this weekend?
