Being Pregnant
15 Amazing Birth Photos from the Delivery Room
Your baby’s entrance to this world is a pretty remarkable event. Not every day does he or she exit the womb. This once in a lifetime experience is something you will never forget, so why not document it with photography to share?
With each labor and delivery, we’ve had a camera handy, but never able to capture the intimate and surreal nature of the child birth experience. The hesitation of having another personin the room while delivering is a bother to me. After seeing these photos – I maybe able to get over that bother.
Check out these 15 amazing photos from the delivery room:

DeathMetalMommy commented on Jun 23 11 at 9:27 amHaving had so few pictures of my first three children being born, yes I most definitely would…if I only I had the money.
Helen commented on Jun 23 11 at 10:36 am@DUTCHM I’m with you. I’m really disliking the slideshows on all the Babble posts.
Amy commented on Jun 23 11 at 10:56 amI am with DutchM as well; these slide shows are VERY annoying!
Anne commented on Jun 23 11 at 11:21 amDitto, DutchM! ENOUGH ALREADY with the slide shows!!!

Jen commented on Jun 23 11 at 2:42 pmPlease also look into the mobile site as well. On the mobile site it cuts off half of the pictures. As for the pictures, they are gorgeous! But I am 27 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby. these pictures both fascinate me and petrify me. LOL!
Lori commented on Jun 23 11 at 2:52 pmThese photos are AMAZING!! I teared up just a little looking at them. No matter how many times you go through this whether w/ you own children or just being in the room w/ someone else it is always amazing!! I had not trouble clicking through the pictures.
Mel commented on Jun 23 11 at 3:25 pmI want a professional photographer at my next birth. I may find a friend with a good eye and borrow my dad’s SLR…
Anna Liesemeyer commented on Jun 25 11 at 12:08 pmI had photos taken this time around for my baby girl, and am so happy I did. It was amazing to capture those first moments of life, the tears of joy, and the expressions of love at first sight.
These are all incredible examples!
Beth commented on Jun 25 11 at 1:36 pmAs a photographer I must say that birth is the most incredible event to photograph. What a very special moment to have photos of.
Meghan commented on Jun 25 11 at 5:16 pmI had it done three months ago and I wouldn’t change a thing.
lyndsay commented on Jun 25 11 at 10:31 pmFor moms looking for a birth photographer in their area, birthphotographers.com is a great resource!
Michele (Pinkle Toes) commented on Jun 25 11 at 11:48 pmThe link to the credit of my website is not working. Could someone please correct it. It’s on this image http://blogs.babble.com/being-pregnant/2011/06/23/15-amazing-birth-photos-from-the-delivery-room/?pid=401#slideshow and the site should be to http://www.pinkletoes.com. Thank you.

Jen commented on Jun 26 11 at 7:24 amIt looks like many of these weren’t actually taken in a “delivery room”, but were home births!
Whitney commented on Jun 26 11 at 4:17 pmI thought it would bother me to have someone else in the room. But it actually didn’t. We now have amazing pictures that tell the story of our son’s birth. I wanted to have pictures of our daughter’s birth, but our doula wasn’t able to take pictures in the same way as our birth photographer was. Although it was quite expensive, I wouldn’t change a thing. If I had a friend with an amazing eye, I would totally ask her though ;). Who knew when we had our son’s birth photographed, he would make it into your post! Lol.
annie commented on Sep 04 11 at 5:34 pmThis is making me want another baby! QUIT IT with the beautiful newborns!!!
Barbara commented on Sep 04 11 at 5:44 pmLove the pics. have pics of my twin girls birth and they are now almost 24 and gave them too them and think that they are amazed with them no matter what others say about them they are great……………
Echo commented on Sep 04 11 at 6:53 pmgeez give it up with the slideshow comments, they already said they are working on it. I love the slideshows and these pictures are beautiful. I had 3 people in the room, not including the midwives and they were all so busy trying to help me deliver that no one shot a picture of the baby when she was born, there are many many wonderful pictures of her after they cut the cord tho, so im happy with that. but the first few minutes of her life out of my tummy, there arent any. :(
alexandrea commented on Sep 04 11 at 9:32 pmmy husband got some amazing shots of our son right as they layed him on me for the first time, cord still intact and all! he captured the first moment i layed eyes on him, and had the pic blown up and framed for my first mother’s day <3
Amy commented on Sep 08 11 at 1:14 pmMy really good friend is a photographer and asked if I would let her photograph the entire process, everything from arriving at the hospital to those first moments where my son was put in my arms for the first time. And because this was her first time doing it she didn’t charge me! I love these photos, she made a slide show with a DMB song and it still makes me cry every time I watch it.

Aleah commented on Sep 18 11 at 8:40 pmI wonder why the water birth photos are all black-and-white?
Kerri commented on Sep 18 11 at 8:42 pmThey are all beautiful! Amy, I watched your slideshow, and it made me cry and want another baby!! I must stop looking at stuff like this…. I have 3 and enough is enough, lol! BTW, yes I had pics taken at all of my births, the last one was professional by a friend of mine (for free, yay!) and I look at them quite often, missing my sweet little newborns!
Ally Messier commented on Oct 21 11 at 4:09 pmMakes me sad I just had my last and wanted to have a birth photographer there but hubby said no… he is so much more close minded then I . :)
julie commented on Oct 22 11 at 1:29 amBeautiful. I wish we had thought of hiring a professional photographer. It was such an awe-inspiring experience. She is almost 9 now and each stage of life is more breathtaking then the one which preceeded it.
Anne commented on Nov 03 11 at 5:38 pmHow are these amazing? They just look like baby stock photos to me.
Sara commented on Nov 04 11 at 12:22 pmGROSS! Guess most have to be black and white to cover the blood color.
Ick.
Diana commented on Jan 01 12 at 2:07 pmWorst photo I have for a birth memory is of my vagina fully dilated with my breasts exposed , baby wasn’t even near the opening, to top it off, my mother worked at wal-mart and had my high school friend develop the photos, She had me pick up the pictures….awkward conversation ensued and some picking on…then my mothers perverted now ex bf stole the photos….I just pray they are not circling the internet. These photos above are beautiful and tasteful , wish mine were .
