Eva is hoping to give her daughter the ultimate gift - her womb via a womb transplant.

If your daughter couldn’t have children due to an issue with her reproductive organs – would you transplant your womb to her?

Sara Ottosson was born without her reproductive organs due to Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser syndrome. The cause of the condition is unknown. Approximately 1 in 5000 are born with the syndrome.

Sara wants to have a baby, but without going the surrogacy route – wouldn’t be able to biologically. Her mother, 56-year-old Eva Ottosson, is hoping to give her daughter the ultimate gift a womb. The same womb she carried her daughter in through a womb transplant surgery.

The womb transplant surgery would take place at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden. Sara and Eva have been tested and are awaiting a decision on their eligibility.

If the womb transplant was to be a success, Sara would then need to undergo IVF in order to get pregnant.
