“16 And Pregnant” Star Pregnant Again!
Expecting baby number two!
Okay. I admit it. I am totally addicted to the MTV series 16 And Pregnant.
I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s because I became pregnant at the same age and had an abortion and these girls choose to keep the babies. Maybe I like watching what usually turns out to be a train wreck because it reinforces that I made the right choice. Or did I? I don’t know.
Regardless, the odds of staying together are stacked even higher for one couple because it turns out, she’s pregnant again.
16 And Pregnant Star Jordan Ward is expecting her SECOND baby. Jordan recently appeared on season 3 of the hit show. You can read a recap of Jordan’s episode on 16 and Pregnant here. She’s the one with the twin sister, Jessica, who got jealous of all the time Jordan spent with her baby daddy, Brian.
Well, Jessica best prepare herself to see her sister even less because Jordan and her husband Brian are expecting another baby. Their son, Noah, is 17 months old. The couple got married in January after two years of dating.
I’ve read reports of teens getting pregnant on purpose so they can be on 16 and Pregnant and it blows me away. Are teens really that stupid? And then I remember being a teen and yes, yes teens really are that stupid.
However, I am still a big fan of the show and think that more teens probably seek birth control than try to get pregnant as a result of seeing how overwhelming having a baby is as a teen. Sure, there are always going to be a few idiots who see the Teen Mom girls in the pages of Us Weekly and In Touch and think it’d be super cool to cash in on their fifteen minutes of fame, but for the most part, I think the show is an excellent deterrent for teen pregnancy. Do any of those girls look like they’re having fun? Looks like a nightmare to me. But as Babble’s Rebecca reports, the desire for fame is powerful. Powerful enough to put yourself through childbirth and being a teen mom?

Denise commented on May 20 11 at 6:56 pmThe girls that are crazy enough to try and get pregnant to be on television would have likely found another crazy to become pregnant anyway. But there are a lot of girls out there who realize that their actions (or lack of actions) could have serious consequences after watching what these girls go through and are more likely to take precautions.
lauren commented on May 21 11 at 7:51 pmi agree with denise … there will always be crazy teenagers who don’t understand the consequences of their hasty decisions. if you watch this show even once, though, i don’t understand how you could possibly think it glorifies anything at all. it makes being a teen mom look so, so hard. the real life teens i know who watch it are horrified.
