Tina Fey Is Pregnant
According to People magazine, Tina Fey announced that she’s pregnant during a taping of Oprah today. She was there to promote her book Bossypants. Apparently she’s already five months along.
This is a particularly interesting turn given her recent and brilliant rant “Confessions of a Juggler” about whether or not to have a second child in The New Yorker last month. Well, now she has answer. And it’s yes.
Doing the math, I’m realizing that she must have known what was up when her New Yorker piece was published which kinda makes it even more awesome. In it, she goes off on how lame it is to have a clock ticking on both her fertility and box office bankabililty. After forty eggs and acting offers nose dive at a similar rate.
Here’s a line from the piece where she (humorously) questions the value of work in general: “And what’s so great about work anyway? Work won’t visit you when you’re old. Work won’t drive you to the radiologist’s for a mammogram and take you out afterward for soup.” At the end of her rant she tells us her gynecologist reassures her that whatever happens, she’ll be fine. I’m guessing that number two or not, that would have been the case. But here’s to some resolution on the issue.
