diapers 300x300 Im A Cloth Diapering Junkie

I'm obsessed

I love cloth diapers – well, and cloth diapering.

When I had Addie I anticipated using cloth diapers from the start, but then she was so petite at birth, we had to push back our use of cloth diapers by a couple months. I was kind of bummed, but now she is in them and I am starting to think outside the box and try all kinds of different diapers that I never used in my collection before.

I have started to become a cloth diapering snob. For the most part, I love all of them. I do wish that I could make my own diaper, with my very favorite traits, that contains all the features of the diapers that I have used thus far.

I mean, seriously if I could make a hybrid of all my favorites, I would be a millionaire!

You know you would buy it!  Haha!

I wanted to share my fave cloth diapers… and I also really want all the readers here to comment below with your favorites. I need to try try them out if I haven’t already!

Favorite cloth diaper? GO!

AppleCheeks
AppleCheeks hold a special place in my cloth diapering heart because they are the first diapers we ever used.
They are sized diapers that come in either size 1, or 2 and can accommodate even the chunkiest thighs.
I love all the bright colors and the two adorable prints they have available!

I love Swaddlebee flats for my 4mo with a wool cover or Thirsties Duo cover. For the almost 2yo I like the Econobum with the Thirsties Dou cover and Fuzziebunz pockets. Also have Flips, use those on laundry day and as a booster for the baby at night with the flat.

I really love diaper rite pocket diaper and diaper rite cover with a pre fold. I also really like the GoGreen diaper. The go free diaper works really well as an overnight diaper because they have an insert that snaps in so it makes getting the second insert in there much easier. Diaper rite covers and pocket diaper have to be my go to and I’m very bummed when I run out of them because I have used them all.

We love bumGenius! They were recommended to me by a friend, and I went ahead and bought a whole stash of the 4.0s before my little guy was born. We are almost 7 months into this parenting (and cloth diapering) gig, and we are still loving them! My only real complaint is that they are terribly bulky under clothing, especially with the doubler/newborn insert I have to use in addition to the regular insert (little man is a heavy wetter). We’ve only had a couple of leak incidents, and that’s usually when the diaper had shifted a bit or he slept a super long time through the night. Thanks for this post too! I was already thinking about buying a few of the other brands of diapers, and this is helping me narrow down my choices!

Love my grovias!! One size hybrid (pocket diaper) is the way to go in my opinion. They adjust depending on size of the baby, so they always fit snug and look super cute! I also have some thirsties hemp I serfs that are amazing, work great alone or as an extra insert for night time.

We found that the Thirsties Duo Wrap diapers were good for very young babies because when fitted they didn’t interfere with the umbilical cord.

I’m a Blueberry girl. I love their pockets but have developed a love for the Blueberry Basix. If you don’t like microfiber, the Swaddlebees Simplex is basically the same diaper but with cotton. I love that one too but the Basix is a smidge smaller and for now, fits my baby better (I have the sized versions) and the microfleece lining is SO soft! I also like the GoGreen Champ and have discovered an awesome new diaper, Booty Buns.

Love my gdiapers!!! Fit great, even from the start with their tiny g ‘s. Made my own inserts to save money. Never have leaks or blowouts.

I love my flips and thirties duo wrap. I must be doing something wrong with my Fuzzibunz. They leak out of the leg everytime which bothers me because I bought so many at first thinking they would be my favorites.

I love my Best Bottoms. You can reuse the shells until they are soiled, which cuts down on the costs. For my heavy wetters overnight, I like Happy Hempy with a Superdoo insert (and sometimes an additional hemp insert) and a Stacinator cover. It’s bulky, but holds a lot of pee.

We’ve liked our bumgenius with both kids, but I highly recommend getting the newer option with snaps. Snaps aren’t as easy, but velcro seems to wear out before pottytraining begins. You can replace it, but unless you are a strong sewer, this is difficult.

You should try rumparooz, they are my favorite!

I was scared to try cloth diapers 4 years ago. I asked a friend if she could help me. Today I am proud to say I own a cloth diaper store (Bloomtownbaby)! My favorites are Blueberry, Fuzzy Bunz and Thirsties. I do have to say that I also like the Bummi Swim diapers. I volunteer through AGAPE of Bloomsburg to teach low income families how to use cloth. I love what I do for a living!

Danielle, can you tell me where you score your dipes on sale?

Maggie commented on Feb 14 12 at 11:42 am

While I do like my bumGenius 4.0s, I prefer to support WAHMs on either etsy or hyenacart.com, etc. Some of my faves are BumbleBUNZ, Piddle Poddles, Katies3 Sweet Peas, and Ella Bella Bum. I mostly use fitteds with wool or pul cover. Piddle Poddles has a great ‘Cadillac’ AIO. Oooh, and llamajamas longies or shorties, delicious!
