Raising Children Who Love to Eat Everything

I can’t say enough good things about this book. The author doesn’t hit you over the head with stead fast rules or try to sell some new catch phrase approach — if I hear the phrase baby-led weaning one more time my head is going to explode — she simple shares her thoughts, experiences and advice in a very easy to read, digestible way. It gave me a lot to think about and helped me approach things from a different angle quite a few times.

I’ve had 2 extra copies of My Two-Year-Old Eats Octopus Book Giveaway: My Two Year Old Eats Octopus sitting on my desk for well over a year. It’s time to spread the love. Leave a comment below to be entered for a chance to win one of the copies. I’m giving away the other copy on my food blog GreenLiteBites so click here and leave a comment there for a second chance.

I’m shipping. There are no location restrictions. I’ll pick a winner next week.

I’d love to win this – I’m due in July and really hoping my son/daughter will grow up to be an adventurous eater just like me!

Kathleen Ojo commented on Feb 10 12 at 11:43 am

I’d LOVE to win this. My two year old ate anything, but he’s now three and says things like “ew” and “yuck” at anything besides mac and cheese or peanut butter. He’s broken. I need to fix him…

bridget commented on Feb 10 12 at 11:49 am

I need help! Fruit snacks and French fries are becoming the basis of my youngest daughters consumption. At least they are no sugar added, right?!

Holly Schwartz commented on Feb 10 12 at 11:50 am

My daughter is 10 weeks old and I am SO worried that she will be a picky eater. I will eat/try anything, but my husband is picky beyond repair (by his own admission!) By the time she starts eating food, we both really want to feel like we have the most information possible to keep her from developing her dad’s poor eating patterns.

Sarah commented on Feb 10 12 at 11:54 am

My son is 15 months old and I’m always looking for new ideas. I would love to have this book so he becomes a great eater of healthy foods.

Amy Moore commented on Feb 10 12 at 11:55 am

I would love a copy of this book!

sara commented on Feb 10 12 at 11:59 am

I would love to win this! I have an 11 year old, 9 year old, and almost 10 month old. I am trying to be different with my 10 month old since I have seemed to do something wrong with the older 2 because they are the pickiest eaters ever and it is getting old. I would hope this book could help me with all 3 of them!
:-)

Amy McDaniel commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:01 pm

I’d love to win this!! My 7.5 month old is eating a wide variety of fruits and veggies now, but I’d like to have a game plan as we start thinking about solids instead of purees (or making our own purees of more adventurous entrees for him)!

EmilyBM commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:06 pm

My son is 3 but I’m still struggling to get him to eat a wide variety of foods. Would love to read this one!

Courtney commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:08 pm

This would be a great resource. My 18 mo old son is becoming more picky by the day! Thanks!

Amanda commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:10 pm

My children are not the best eaters. My daughter just picks at things and my son refuses to eat anything green or related to a veggie. I may need this book, Pick Me! Pick Me!

Vickie commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:11 pm

I would love to read this! I am struggling with my 3 year old to eat all the time!

Stacey commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:18 pm

Monica commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:41 pm

I would love to read this book! My little guy is pretty good about eating lots of foods, but I would love to hear other approaches to creating an adventurous eater, and get more ideas for recipes.

Brianne commented on Feb 10 12 at 12:42 pm

I’d like to have a copy of the book. Picky eaters seem to be getting worse and worse and I try really hard to eat healthy. I’d like my kids to eat healthy too.

Amy commented on Feb 10 12 at 1:37 pm

Oh yeah I need this.

BigTickles commented on Feb 10 12 at 1:53 pm

Shoot, I could definitely use this- my 15 month old has a diet that consists of about 5 different things. Try as we might to get her to eat different stuff, uh uh, she wants none of it. Sigh.

Kim Q commented on Feb 10 12 at 2:32 pm

I see my nieces and nephews refusing food all the time, and I’m scared it’ll happen with my own kid. I’d love that book!

Talia commented on Feb 10 12 at 2:59 pm

I would love a copy of this book. So far, my 7 month old will eat anything we give her to try, but I’m worried that she will become a picky toddler. I was a picky eater as a child and I definitely don’t want that for my daughter!

Melissa commented on Feb 10 12 at 4:11 pm

Stephanie commented on Feb 10 12 at 4:21 pm

My daughter just started solids about a month ago and I’m really hoping to avoid the mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets, pb&j protests in the future. So far we’re off to a good start, she loves curry, but I’d like to figure out how to nourish this exploration!

Jess commented on Feb 10 12 at 4:40 pm

I’d love to win! So far, so good with my nearly 11 month old, but I’d love new ideas as I’m sure we will encounter challenges as she grows. Thanks for the opportunity!

Alexandra commented on Feb 10 12 at 4:55 pm

Does it work for 9 year olds too? I have a picky 9,7,5, and 2 year old – AND a brand new, 1 week old baby. I’d love to do it differently with my newborn… I try not to cater my meals to my kids but I definitely dread dinner time because it is full of exhausting complaining and gagging and drama!!

My son is 18 months and we have a brand-new baby girl. He used to eat just about anything but in the last three months or so he started making faces for any textured fruits or vegetables. I could really use some help! I don’t want to force food down his throat and I don’t think drinking a vitamin supplemented drink is sufficient.

Sydni commented on Feb 11 12 at 8:52 am

Thank you for a wonderful giveaway!

Shelley commented on Feb 11 12 at 8:54 am

Thanks for the opportunity! I’d love to check it out.

kt commented on Feb 11 12 at 9:20 am

Wow.. my 13th mth old eats everything i give her. So I am sure to give her fruits and veggies and new items. She does very well. You should start with your self. How picky are you? Children pick up on this. I have a nephew who only wants to eat corn dogs at three. It is awful and he will not eat come dinner time. I get frustrated. My sister is very picky though. The book sounds awesome. I hope someone who really could use it adn would actually read it wins it. Good Luck.

suzanne s commented on Feb 11 12 at 10:39 am

I’d love to check out this book. My first is due any day now, and I would love any advice I can take about introducing foods to him at an early age. Question: do these techniques work with picky husbands too? :D

I hope to win this because:
a.) I am an adventurous eater now
b.) I was NOT an adventurous or even willing eater as a child (my my how things change)

I really don’t want a “french fry” only child.

Hi! I would love to win this! Nutrition is so important, and learning about different options for my son to eat would really help me out, and probably help me explore some regions that I am too uninformed to look into. He is only 15 months old. I really want him to like everything, but I am scared for him to try some food. I would also love to share what I have at his daycare because I know there are definitely picky eaters.

Tina commented on Feb 12 12 at 12:32 pm

My 22 month old is a really picky eater… grilled cheese, yogurt, applesauce, goldfish crackers…. that’s about it. I would love to win this for some much needed assistance in helping him expand his diet. I’m concerned about his nutrition, so any suggestions from this book would be so much appreciated!

Steph commented on Feb 12 12 at 2:39 pm

You know how baby books list all the various foods babies can eat as you introduce and progress through solids? Well we created a chart of these and made the goal state that at stage 23 he would eat octopus!
I would live some realistic insight into how to make this a possibility! This book sounds great!

Tricia Wolpoff commented on Feb 12 12 at 3:22 pm

I love octopus. I would love for my children to like it too!

Laura commented on Feb 12 12 at 6:09 pm

Lil’ miss loves to eat pretty much anything she can get her hands on for now. She definitely has her preferences, but I try to keep a wide variety to make her meals as nutritious as possible while avoiding dairy and limiting gluten/soy (not due to allergies, just opting to exclude/minimize intake for the health benefits) and she’s still breastfed.

Heidi Reyes commented on Feb 12 12 at 7:11 pm
