Ninja Masks and Hair Paint
I’ve done some pretty stupid things in the name of beauty. Some more expensive than others and some far more painful. My grandma once told me to slather my hair with mayo for some reason, I ended up smelling like a rotten fridge for a week. Then there was the time I had to explain the missing beer to my mom as I heard that beer in your hair made it super shiny (wrong.) I’ve tried to wax my own eyebrows, wax my own legs and I’ve even tried to wax my own … you know. I ended up with sticky goo on my face for 24 hours, battle weary legs and a hickey on my inner thigh from where the wax strip took both my hair and my skin.
I’ve laid off the silly make-it-yourself beauty regiments for the most part (who has time to wash mayo out of their hair with a baby around?) but there are few things I still do at home that have wonderful results without the expense (or babysitter) required for a spa or salon visit.
