Acquired Skills

This month brought a lot of changes. I guess every month does that, but this month felt especially monumental. As of yesterday, I think you’ve finally figured out this crawling thing, but you still don’t always put two and two together on the fact that you can get where you want to go all by yourself. You have also mastered the transition from sitting to crawling and back again. You have yet to realize that rolling from your back to your stomach is the key to getting up all by yourself. Let that be your next skill.

You are already pulling up on furniture but due to your poor balance I doubt you’ll be walking on your own any time soon. (Which is fine by me.)

You  have also started making crazy growling sounds. It’s hilar.

Food

Tortillas are a big hit! You love to eat pieces of tortilla all by yourself. You are still impatient when it comes to us feeding you anything. I am hoping this next month you will be feeding yourself more often because that is when you are most happy.

Eight months in, we are still nursing as much as ever. Including in the night. A lot. We should work on this.

Favorites

The wind. Early on in your life, the wind made you panic. You would gasp and fidget with every gust. After moving to a place with a constant ocean breeze, you have finally gotten used to it. In fact, you flap your arms and squeal every time the breeze hits your face.

Dislikes

Being left alone. Jarred meat – Beef and gravy, ham, or turkey. It doesn’t matter much, they all disgust you – which makes sense because they disgust me too. I apologize for ever trying to feed them to you.

Great idea with the tortilla! And our little bear still isn’t sleeping through the night without a feeding (we are almost 9 months) so don’t worry about it :)
