That First Coo
Kara turns one month old this week.
This not going to be the post where I cry a million tears about the fact that my last baby is growing at warp speed, I’ll be saving that mess for Monday.
What I want to talk about today, is a special milestone that we reached this week. Out of nowhere, between periods of silence, intense crying, and guttural baby-grunts came the most precious little noise.
This week, Kara made her first real baby noises, we’re cooing, folks!
It is amazing how those adorable little ooh and ahh and agoo noises begin flowing from your baby’s little mouth one day. At first, they come only once or twice a day, but I know from experience that within a few more weeks, she’ll be exercising her first attempts at communication on a more regular basis.
Of course, her father and I are now saying, “Mama!” and “Dada!” to her on the regular, you know, because it is a competition to see which parent’s name she’ll utter first!
