Baking with Baby. Today, Santa’s Favorite Christmas Cookie
Look, I may only be seven months old but I have a big sister, and she’s explained to me how things work at this time of year. Christmas Eve we leave treats out for Santa, he comes down our chimney and leaves us some Christmas presents. Obviously there isn’t much that I want that my mom can’t provide for me: a clean diaper, snuggles, a warm bed and a full belly … but let’s be real here. I’ve had my eye on that Sophie the Giraffe toy for MONTHS now. All my friends talk about how great she is and that I really should have one.
In an effort to win Santa over and finally get one of those silly little giraffe toys in my mouth I decided to bribe the big man with some amazing cookies he can put in his mouth, thus proving who really deserves a new giraffe toy this Christmas.
My big sister was around to help out with the candy cane unwrapping and crushing (I did a mighty fine job of getting that process started by throwing each one to the floor.) She also helped scoop the goodies on top of the cookies when they were done baking. I’d say these were a mighty good success.
You will need:
One package of Pillsbury Peppermint Sugar Cookie Dough
1.5 c. mini chocolate chips
3 cups mini marshmallows
12 peppermint candy canes, crushed
We baked the cookies for about 18 minutes at 325 degrees convection. They had just barely begun to brown on the edges when we pulled them out to top them. They went back in the oven for 5 minutes (with the oven turned off) until the marshmallows puffed and the chocolate chips slightly melted.
Thanks very much to Pillsbury for sponsoring this post and for providing Pillsbury products for me to have some fun with. Check out more posts in this campaign.
