WHY is it so hard to get everyone to look at the camera and just smile?!

Since I had my fun laughing at other family’s awkward family photos in 10 Fabulously Awkward Baby’s First Holiday Photos and 12 Fabulously Awkward MATCHING Holiday Outfit Photos it’s time to share a few of my own.

This past sunday I did what I said I wouldn’t. I made my whole family put something red on and get in front of the tree for a family photos. The tripod and away we went…

Test Shot
Goofy Kid, baby not looking. Classic.

We did end up getting a shot that’s “good enough” for the card. Although the husband wants to try again. I say no. You get one awkward holiday photo shoot a year. I don’t have the energy to try again.

Great pics! Gave me a nice laugh this morning! :) Maybe sometimes the goofy ones are the best!

I just tried to take a family Christmas photo this week and it was a disaster. I have a 3 year old, 2 year old, and 7 month old. So many of the shots none of them were looking. And of course when they are looking they are making faces, or they are half running out of the picture to grab the cat since (as my oldest would say) the cat NEEDS to be in the picture too.
So we end up with a cat dangling out of my 3 y/o arms with a scared look on her face, my 3 y/o with a supper big smile since he is so proud to have the cat, the 2 y/o just being grumpy since he didn’t get to hold the cat, the 7 month old pulling my hair, me with a look of distress, and my hubby just standing there waiting for this to be over.

I am “dreading” the family picture too…i’ll end up photoshopping the baby and the toddler. I can not seem to make them look at the same direction at the same time…
