My Little Look-a-Likes
It really is rather neat – how much my littles resemble each-other. Not to mention how utterly heart bursting it is too see how taken Wyndham is with his little sister.
He asks to hold her all the time and calls out her name in the most adorable sing-song voice – it would seem, especially designated just for her. And she, how she watches him. How she grins up at him – with patience fitting beyond her age, as he grapples and tugs in his toddler way.
These little babes, their fresh round faces – cheeks all pudgy and lips all rosy/drooly. Eyes wide and brimming with wonder, fringed so pretty by long, thick and curly lashes.
Wee little noses and the softest skin, it’s of the stuff that makes me want to nibble on them constantly. It’s there for them forever, this bond of blood and love betwixt these two. I hope to nourish it as much as I can, this relationship like no other.
This brother and sister. Aren’t they just a couple of heart-breaking lookers?
What a lucky little girl she is to have an older brother such as he. He who chatters on about her at daycare, as his teachers tell me so. He who crafts stories about her in his bed as he talks himself to sleep.
I’m starting to see clearly now, past the haze of sleepless nights and crying. The constant crying, don’t ever stop holding or rocking me; crying. I’m starting feel a little more like me again, only now – with the most amazing family ever. This. Is. For. Real. Not a dream. The years will come and go, and always – they will be my children. What an amazing, wonderful, miracle.
Do you have babies close in age? Were you as worried as I was? I know there will be fights and hair pulling and teasing and all of that. But let me just have this moment, k?

Tiffany commented on Oct 29 11 at 11:02 pmMy babies are 16 months apart. My little girl is 18 months and my baby boy is 2 months. My 18 month old still wants nothing to do w her brother. I am hoping and praying she will soon warm up to him. Your story is inspirational :-)
