Sleep. It’s Finally Happening!
7 hours, people.
That is how long our little dude Zeke is sleeping. Odd, but we are 3 nights in with exactly 7 hours straight! I’ll take it!
While sure, this maybe a weird fluke. This mom feels rested.
For the first time in 2 months — I am somewhat human again! The last three nights, late night feedings have been nonexistent. And while I still battle a wee bit of insomnia, the fact that when I do FINALLY fall asleep that I can sleep without having to wake up to feed our little dude – my body is actually rested. Rest is a good thing. Maybe soon I can return to one of my long-lost hobbies — napping!
Another perk of this baby actually sleeping thing… While I love my little man snuggled up next to me (Yes, we co-sleep. Judge if you must — he has actually slept in his baby sleeper. (Read a review of the Fisher Price Rock N’ Play Baby Sleeper) That means my arm isn’t cramping and I’m not awaken by his every move.
To all you newborn mamas — there is hope! 2 months and finally we are seeing the light.
P.S. I am really hoping I am not jinxing this sleep thing by writing this!
When did you finally feel like you were getting rest with your baby?

cathey commented on Oct 04 11 at 9:26 amsleep is a wonderful thing! this is excellent news. my little guy is almost a year and JUST NOW started sleeping stretches longer than three hours. it’s been an exhausting year. :)
Meagan commented on Oct 04 11 at 11:19 amNot to be the voice of gloom, but mine was starting to sleep pretty well at two months… then three months hit like a freight train and everything sleep related went haywire. He would sleep ok once he went down, but would take an hour or more to go down with EACH night waking and nap. Now, at four months, he goes down a little easier, but he’s waking up EVERY. TWO. HOURS.
Tammy commented on Oct 05 11 at 12:05 pmI share what Megan has to say. my little girl was sleeping pretty well between 2&4 months. But, then she started waking every 2-3 hours for a change & a feed. she’s now almost 9mos old & rarely sleeps more than 5 hours at a stretch. Good luck.
