Dolphin Organics Natural baby products Organic Baby Shampoo Organic Baby Wash Organic Baby Lotion Natural Bubble Bath Natural Hair Conditioner Dolphin Organics Giveaway!

***GIVEAWAY OVER***

Last week I mentioned how much I love Dolphin Organics for cleaning and maintaining my very chubby baby. All natural ingredients, easy-to-read, no-nonsense labels and unscented for even the most delicate snowflake skin. Most of us have found out the hard way that even when a label says “natural” or “organic” it doesn’t mean that every ingredient is natural or organic. Dolphin Organics has nothing to hide, and nothing artificial. At all.

Dolphin Organics has been generous enough to offer a great giveaway to one of you lovely Baby’s First Year readers.

They’re not kidding when they say their label is easy to read. The whole bottle is practically designed around the ingredients.

I’m trying to be more aware of the ingredients in lotions/soaps/shampoos. I’m also trying to eat more organic/less processed food.

Rachel commented on Sep 28 11 at 11:54 am

Research, research, research and common sense.

Emmy commented on Sep 28 11 at 11:56 am

After doing lots of research, I choose products that contain safe and natural ingredients.

buffyisadog commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:02 pm

I try to use organic cotton as often as possible.

kara commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:05 pm

One big way I have kept from having to lather my 4 children up with SPF or spraying them is by buying swimsuits/shirts with SPF already in them. What is great about that is there is also an indicator if it is too hot for them to be out in the sun. It takes the guess work out of the rays of the sun are at the highest levels.

When it comes to lotions, soaps ect. I look for organic products or products that are more wholesome.

Darlene Schubert commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:14 pm

Label reading as much as possible!

Shannon commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:15 pm

We switched to an environmentally safe laundry detergent that doesn’t have dyes or perfumes.

Kristy commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:24 pm

We take our shoes off when we come in the house, wash our hands frequently, use homemade or natural cleaners, make our own organic baby food and research baby care products before purchasing.

Jennifer commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:25 pm

I end up applying my organic / chemical free products on my girls, but my “stuff” is EXPENSIVE and it would be nice to have something that the girls can have for themselves and that I still feel good about them using.

Gretchen commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:33 pm

The biggest thing we do is that we exclusively use cloth diapers!

Stephanie Potter commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:35 pm

We learned to read and UNDERSTAND labels!

Angela commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:39 pm

Read as much as possible and try to make the most well-informed choices I can.

Leta commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:47 pm

Cloth diapers, and when you read a label, if there’s anything you don’t understand, look it up from a RELIABLE source.

Talia commented on Sep 28 11 at 12:59 pm

Read, read, read. I can’t be to informed about ingredients that change all the time. Even when you think they are the same as the last bottle you purchased.

Jessica commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:09 pm

Oh yay! I was just at Kroger looking for something gentler for Baby’s skin and the best I could find was J&J’s natural line. I don’t trust them. But, it’s what I bought cause it was the best they had…

Erica Mueller commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:21 pm

Cloth diapering, eating organically (whenever financially possible!) and reading labels!!

Sary Stroll commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:21 pm

My husband and I have done our best to educate ourselves on how to read labels and understand what all the ingredients are. I also plan on making food for my little girl so that I will have control over what gets in to her little tummy!

Brandy commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:23 pm

I keep my baby in a bubble! Just kidding . . . .kinda . . .

Shawna commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:48 pm

My little guy has super-sensitive skin, so this is something I worry about. We use all natural cleaners, detergents, body products. No dyes or perfumes. We cloth diaper. We don’t use wipes, just water on flannel cloths (too weird?). Made our own baby food up until he started eating regular food. Breastfed for 16 months. Feed him about 85% organic. We’re not perfect, but we try :-)

Courtney commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:54 pm

Buying organic foods, wash & lotions as much as possible!

Robyn Smith commented on Sep 28 11 at 1:59 pm

Well I do a fee things but the most important changes are done one at the time. If i try to change all at once i get overwhelmed and it doesn’t work.

Laura commented on Sep 28 11 at 2:04 pm

To keep my baby away from chemicals we use cloth diapers, and give her as much organic food as we can. She is also still breastfed at 13 months old. Would love to win this!

Rio commented on Sep 28 11 at 2:04 pm

TO KEEP MY CHEMICALS OFF AND AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN I USE CHILDREN SAFE PRODUCTS AND I STILL STORE THEM IN THE HIGH CABINET IN MY BATHROOM..THE CABINET ALSO HAS A CHILD SAFETY LATCH ON IT SO THEY CANT GET IN IT EVEN IF THEY FIND A WAY UP TO THE CABINET.THEY CANT GET IN IT

robyn whysong commented on Sep 28 11 at 2:08 pm

This is so hard but I am trying to be better. I bought only organic baby food with my first. This time I am more aware and am trying to be better on many other things.

Megan Templeman commented on Sep 28 11 at 2:39 pm

The minute I found out I was pregnant I made some drastic life changes. From staying away from friends and places that allowed inside smoking, to the foods I ate and the everyday products I used. I researched everything before purchasing, including all the lotions and potions for my baby and myself. I love that there are so many choices out there today, and Dolphin Organics is one of my favs! From the affordable prices to no nonsense labeling, it makes me feel secure knowing that I can trust what I put on my baby. I always make sure to inform my friends and family about the things I want on and around my baby, and research-research-research what I buy and use myself!

Kristin commented on Sep 28 11 at 3:01 pm

I research everything that comes into my home for my baby girl. From her formula, baby food, bath products, even her diapers. I want only the best for her. I also only clean my house and do my dishes with organic products that I know are 100% safe for her. I feel that taking the extra step to ensure her safety and well-being is what being a mom is all about. Why would you settle for anything less but the best for your little pride and joy? :)

Kelly commented on Sep 28 11 at 3:10 pm

I will do my best to keep my baby away from chemicals by using safe products and safe foods. I will shop for products from places that have chemical free products and work extra hard at reading labels to be sure I’m only getting the safest products for my baby.

Nichole commented on Sep 28 11 at 3:39 pm

My baby had very sensitive skin and it’s hard to find good products for her. Using safe laundry soap, lotions and keeping her covered to avoid sunscreen and bug spray are a few things we do.

Stacy commented on Sep 28 11 at 3:46 pm

My toddler has very sensitive/allergic skin, so I used cloth diapers when he was little, now he’s in pull-ups (the dayhome won’t allow cloth), and the only kind I can get that he doesn’t get a rash from have to be ordered in from the US (I live in Canada) for ridiculous shipping costs. Thank goodness he’s almost toilet trained.

Cheryl commented on Sep 28 11 at 3:53 pm

I check everything product I can on the EWG’s SkinDeep website. Love it! And from there I try and learn what ingredients are the worst of the worst and avoid them in whatever I can. I wish they had a moblie app for those last minute trips to the store tho!

Amy commented on Sep 28 11 at 4:17 pm

Being all natural and organic has become a passion since having our son. I have been switching over what we eat and all our everyday products to natural. My son has very sensitive skin and I have been on the hunt for the best product to use on him that wont make him break out in hives.
Plus, October 5th is my 26th birthday!!!

Kristen commented on Sep 28 11 at 4:32 pm

I try to use natural products on our girls. I’ve been getting their soaps and lotions from a farmer’s market in upstate NY (my mom sends them down to me). Besides being natural, it’s helping someone with their little business.

We use Arbonne baby products for the most part (although they get to be expensive so sometimes I use Johnson’s Naturals). I try to stay away from anything that has something I can’t pronounce in it!

I’m not sure if this is already closed but here goes: Before my husband and I had baby, we didn’t care what we used. I tried to use as many sulfate-free and organics as I could, but frankly I went for what was cheapest sometimes. When we found out we were having little Monster things came to a screeching halt in my mind. I thought, “What do chemicals do?” And then I did research. And then I got terrified. Since Monster came home, we’ve used 100% organic or herbal everything. I do research on nearly everything that comes in contact with my daughter. It might sound excessive, but it’s so important to me that this world effect her as little as possible.

Britney commented on Sep 29 11 at 2:38 pm

The steps I take to keep chemicals off and away from my baby is by cutting down on plastics, making sure the products I use on him are BPA free, and by using as many eco-friendly products as I can.

mainly, baby only gets things on his body that are considered “food grade” like apricot kernel oil, corn starch, baking soda. I make my own diaper wipe solution with dr bronners, apricot kernel oil, witch hazel, lavender essential oil and boiled and cooled water.

By reading labels and buying organic.

Liliana Cruz commented on Oct 03 11 at 6:44 am

Using and buying organic products is important for everyone today. One of the main ingredients I try to avoid is High Fructose Corn Syrup. The other day I was reading BBQ sauce labels & only found 1 national brand that did not use HFCS!! I found a great tasting organic brand. Cost a little more, but really great taste

Tina commented on Oct 03 11 at 2:08 pm

I’ve always been nutty about the soaps/lotions we use, and always steer clear of nasties. Also use herbal bug spray…we go organic when we can with food and veggies

Judy commented on Oct 04 11 at 1:14 pm

I use soap my aunt has been making for years. It’s so good her Doctor asks for it for her patients that have Psoriasis.

pam commented on Oct 04 11 at 11:39 pm

Cloth diapers, organic produce, grass-fed meat when we can afford it, non-chemical sunscreens and bug-sprays, natural and organic body care products, and lots and lots of research before we try a new product. My oldest has a nut allergy, so we have to be extra careful because lots of “natural” products use almond oil. I’m excited to see that these don’t!

Heather commented on Oct 04 11 at 11:51 pm

Sparkle commented on Oct 05 11 at 10:06 am

I am trying to read more labels – and my little girl has some sensitive skin so we are really trying to stay on top of it!

Leah B commented on Oct 05 11 at 10:32 am

We currently use Burts Bees & Aveeno natural products. I also buy organic, natural baby foods or make my own. I use cloth diapers & natural soaps. We are making a concentrated effort to reduce the chemicals in our cleaning supplies too.

Tammy commented on Oct 05 11 at 11:58 am

We quit using harsh chemicals around the house and really watch what we buy!

Dana Lockwood commented on Oct 05 11 at 12:07 pm

Carol commented on Oct 05 11 at 2:25 pm

I read the cosmetic database from the environmental working group…a wealth of information right there :-)

Crystal commented on Oct 05 11 at 5:42 pm

I use ALL organic baby products including organic baby food. Washing hands, two baths a day (one in the morning and one at night), I don’t go to restaurants where fumes are all around or anywhere as a matter of fact. I always read the “nutrition and facts/ingredients” on the back, to make sure there are no harmful chemicals of any sort.
