My Hair Is Everywhere

I waited in anticipation for weeks after the birth and my hair seemed entirely intact. I got my hair cut just to prepare for it (which I now regret – but that is another story). I thought I was a lucky one, and that my hair was here to stay.

A few weeks ago, I ran a comb through my hair and I couldn’t believe how much hair was caught in the teeth. If I hadn’t known that my hair was going to fall out I would have sworn something was terribly wrong. Why is it that people forget to mention that the hair loss comes months after the baby?

I have relatively thick hair, so I don’t really miss it in on my head, but it sure makes a mess. The real issue is the combination of loose hair and a rolly baby. Every time I give him a bath, I find my hair in his rolls and in between fingers and toes. It’s enough to drive me batty.

Any tips for keeping the stray hairs at bay?

I keep my hair tied up in some shape or form all the time, just to prevent this. My son is 8 months old and I’m still losing hair like crazy.

Same thing here…I started taking prenatal vitamins again… Hopefully they will help

i’m starting to think my hair loss is on the extreme side. it seems to just be getting worse and making my hairline jagged. i try not to think about it or look in the mirror, cause i’ll cry.

Ugh – same here! My son is five months old and he is perpetually covered in my hair. There are literal hairballs that float across my bathroom floor and my dog enjoys eating as much of it as he can. I keep it in a ponytail all the time. I try to get as much of it out in the shower and while blowdrying in the hopes that less will fall out later in the day.

I recently cut mine short so that at least it wouldn’t tangle as much, plus the hair would be harder for B to reach (because it’s falling out on its own, thank you very much, and doesn’t need help from little hands!), but it’s a losing battle all the same.

I’m sad that you regret your haircut because it’s super cute, but hair grows back (eventually…). I’m still getting used to mine, but I do like how easy its been to style. I can even let it air dry and it looks decent. (Which is good, because blow drying probably isn’t so great for reducing hair loss anyhow.)

maybe no one tells you these things cause if they did the human race would be doomed? this is even more upsetting since the past 6 months i’ve had the best hair of my life!
