08 219x300 15 Fashionable Tops That Are Easy to Nurse InA few months ago, I mentioned how disappointed I am in nursing clothes. They are overpriced and generally hideous. What a let down. Obviously I know that I don’t need to wear a nursing top to breastfeed — but there is a convenience and modesty factor that is missing from the majority of my clothes. I hate having to pull my tees all the way up (exposing my midriff in the process) to nurse. I could of course throw on an undershirt, but guess what? Then I would be wearing two shirts at times when it’s so hot that it’s difficult to justify wearing clothes at all.

There are a lot of options that make nursing in public easy, so I thought I would share my favorites. The best part? They are all under $37 (most under $25).

I just got a bunch, I went to a couple of vintage shops and tried on things that looked like they might have boob access. It’s surprising how many regular clothes work as nursing clothes, and how universally terrible nursing clothes are. (And as a side note, why on earth haven’t nursing bra manufacturers figured out that soft fabric exists?!)

I guess I’m just used to wearing tanks under everything no matter how hot it is (very modest Christian chick here) because I wear my Undercover Mama under all my t-shirts and dresses. I have white, black, and brown, so I can wear them under pretty much anything. Nursing tanks don’t give me enough support.
I also shop at Plato’s Closet and buy shirts and dresses with deep V-necks and elasticized necklines. I haven’t paid more than $7 for any of the nursing-friendly shirts I bought there, and they are all from places like Gap and Express!

You should check out the Milan Maternity website. They have some cute maternity tops and dresses that then transition into nursing, and they are reasonably priced.

i think these clothes are perfect for nursing since one can easily feed her baby and it looks great and stylish too
