Collectible Animals
When I was a kid, I dreamed about having a giant stuffed giraffe in my playroom. I saw one at the toy store once and fell in love. I never got that giraffe, but I always thought it would be cool to have a collection of animals for Wolf and of course, for myself. I originally planned to decorate Wolf’s nursery around an animal theme so I started hunting for cute animals. I bought this little wolf when I was pregnant and it sits on the shelf in Wolf’s nursery.
I’ve found some great resources for collectible animals from big to small to handmade to mass produced.
Collectible knit animals from i golfini della nonna. until I’m able to knit my own, these creatures have caught my eye.
I love these animals from Hansa. They look so lifelike and would be so cute in a woodland nursery.
Who could forget Steiff, the world’s oldest plush manufacturer? Their animals are iconic.
My personal favorite, where the little wolf came from, is Every Eskimo. Each animal is handmade from vintage and found materials.

Isobel Morrell commented on Sep 01 11 at 3:19 pmIf you’d like to visit my Etsy.com shop at http://www.coldhamcuddlies.etsy.com there quite a few more handmade foxes, coyotes, bears and rabbits – of all shapes and sizes. I’d be delighted to know what you think of them. In addition, you might like to visit http://www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com – where I write about them, and how they come to be made. Look forward to seeing your comments! Best wishes. Isobel
