Babys First Year Blog
One Year Ago
I never thought in a million years I would have a three month old baby a year after I went to BlogHer 2010. Which put a huge cramp in my style for attending BlogHer 2011, but looking at it now… I am almost glad I didn’t just trek across the country with Addison, especially how she was feeling yesterday. Phew! Dodged a bullet!
This picture was taken Friday morning of the conference before we all headed our own ways for the day. Little did I know less than two weeks later I would conceive what is now my little girl.
We were done having children, our boys were a handful, and extremely close in age and I was finally sitting down to really focus on writing. I got a ton of amazing opportunities out of BlogHer, including a great relationship with Babble.
It also brought the great news of a good friend of mine learning about her pregnancy after trying for nearly 8 months to get pregnant. Yup, in a bar, in The Villiage, at a Babble.com party. Something we all will certainly be talking about for a very long time. I even got some of it on video!
Now here I am with a beautiful little girl, the little girl I always wanted and when we decided we were done having children, the one I almost mourned, because I knew I wouldn’t have the opportunity for a daughter. We have had our ups and our downs for the year, but I wouldn’t change anything that took place. While Addie and I are celebrating HomeHer instead of BlogHer this year, I know next year when she is older, we will be there! If not our entire family… I certainly will be.
But I wouldn’t trade my post BlogHer surprise pregnancy for the world because it certainly completed our family perfectly!
Anyone else at HomeHer this year instead of BlogHer?
