You Would Think She Isn’t My Third Child!
With the amount I have called my pediatrician in the past two months since Addison has been born, you would think she was my first child, and not my third.
Every little sniffle, cough, or blocked tear duct, I am on the phone like a raving maniac requesting an appointment to come in and have her checked out. I think I may also be driving my pediatrician, who is also a good friend of mine, slightly batty.
This time it was a cough. It started Sunday morning and continued through. I called Monday afternoon to book an appointment for Tuesday morning. Tuesday which just also happened to be the hottest day of the entire year thus far. So much fun dragging 3 kids in and out of the car, all around town while sweating like a pig, it was awesome! NOT!
So after bringing her in and having her seen in between the boys competing for Dr. D’s attention also, it is just a little sniffle/cough from it being so extremely hot outside, and having her bouncing from that, into the air conditioning, which we did all day on Saturday at a picnic.
But I thought mothers are supposed to get more lax with each child they have? Not more uptight, because it seems like I am over reacting for every little thing. Or maybe I just have been this neurotic with all the kids but never really noticed it until now?
I thought we all would have grown out of this by now, I mean she is going on three months old!
Heck I thought I would have grown out of it by the time my second child was born.
Anyone never grow out of the over protective parent phase?
