Little Bean’s Most Favorite Thing
I love the little nuggets of personality you can see in newborns. Their facial expressions, what grabs their attention, what works to calm them, it’s all so fascinating to me.
Little Bean is just about 2 months and here’s what I know about him.
He likes to smile.
Now that he’s a little more aware he smiles just at the sound of your voice. Every day he smiles just a little more than the day before. It melts my heart.
He’s a sleeper.
I hope this continues but like his brother and father before him, he seems to like to sleep. Sure, there are times he fights it but that doesn’t last long. According to the Baby Schedule Guide he should be getting 15.5 hours of sleep a day. That would mean he should be up 8 and a half hours. He’s not awake nearly that long! By my estimations Little Bean is sleeping about 18-19 hours a day. Of course no stretch goes longer then about 3 hours but most times, even during the day, he wakes to eat and within 20 minutes he’s out cold again.
Now I just need to work on a good 5 hour stretch at night! That would be nice. :)
And Finally, he loves, I mean ABSOLUTELY ADORES, the bath.
Little Bean has never, not once, cried in the bath. Not even a PEEP. From day one as soon as his little toes hit the warm water he has this expression of absolute pure contentment.

Even with Dad’s poking…

and prodding.

He just takes it all in stride.

Just look at that face!

This is definitely NOT one of his more ANNOYING traits. ;)
What did you baby like at this age? Was he a bath kid too?

Kim Brittingham commented on May 14 11 at 11:23 amI’m not a mom but I’m endlessly fascinated by how individual infants are! What delights one baby from the first moment can terrify another — long before they’ve had a chance to be influenced or taught what’s “supposed to be” wonderful (a bath) or frightening (as in the case of a friend’s daughter, tigers — anywhere — on a flat page, in a television commercial, stuffed toys). I was scared to death of baths when I was little. Amazing, isn’t it?
Jessica commented on May 14 11 at 12:16 pmMy 3 1/2 month old LOVES the bath and has since day one. He can bee all fussy and the second he is in the tub, instant happy baby! After he is all clean, I let him splash around for a bit, and lately he’s gotten much stronger and I have started having a towel handy to wipe my face since he drenches me. But seeing how excited it makes him is worth the showering I get!
Rosstwinmom commented on May 15 11 at 5:36 amMy niece loved baths so much! My sister-in-law was in night school when she was a baby. That meant my brother was in charge at night. My sil was so sure that she’d come home and find the baby happily in the bath all pruny and my brother asleep on the couch. Never happened, luckily.
SoldierLover84 commented on May 15 11 at 10:04 amMy son loves baths as long as the water is warm and doesn’t get cold, once it cools off he’s ready to get out in a heartbeat!
amanda commented on May 15 11 at 7:42 pmMy oldest HATED the bath(he’s learned to love it!). My youngest, LOVED it. To this day, he will stay in the bath for hours. I usually let him take a long bath on the weekends, having to run more warn water at some point for him. I miss having a baby. The squeaks, grunts, stretches, all of it. It really does go by QUICK! (never believed that until my oldest was born. He’s 5.5 now :( )
Nikki commented on May 16 11 at 10:00 amMy baby boy loves the bath too. He is almost 13 weeks, and had never cried in the bath. I actually had him laughing hard and kicking in the tub – too cute!
Allison commented on May 16 11 at 3:41 pmMy 13 month old LOVES the tub and has since she first went in it! We have her in swim lessons now and she is loving that too. although she usually only makes it half way through before she starts to shiver. We have video of her laughing in the tub when she was about Evan’s age!! Precious!! :) He is sooo cute! :)
