Six Milestones That Will Never Make Your Brag Book

The day you welcome your new baby into the world is a miraculous day you never want to forget. And once you bring your precious bundle of joy home, you will inevitably start to take a million pictures to document every accomplishment small and large – of theirs and yours. But as joyful as those moments like baby’s first steps or first day of Kindergarten there are plenty in between that you may just as soon want to let go by without a whole lot of pomp and circumstance. Let me point a few out. Be sure to leave me some ideas of your own. Maybe we should put them into their own “special” book.

Rebecca commented on Nov 28 11 at 10:25 amThe first time you take off the diaper and the kid pees on you. The first time you’re snuggling on the couch on a Saturday morning and the kid barfs on you. The first time the school nurse calls you and tells you that your kid has a super high fever (at 8:30am, moments after you get home from dropping her off at school). The first time you end up in the emergency room for one thing and the doctors are more interested in another thing. (Broken leg was the thing we were there for but they were more interested in a birthmark on his neck) The first time you lose your temper with the pediatric specialist and you yell and scream at him and he FINALLY sees your point and you get the narcotic you wanted for your infant child….and then again when he’s a preschool kid.
Honestly, I could go on forever.

Where I live we are required to put paper products in a see through blue bag which the girls (twins) always seem to catch me taking it out to the garbage….and are questioning me but why???? They no longer buy that it was a mistake that I have made about 50 times.

When you are so concerned with poop and pee and feedings that you actually keep a detailed chart of the baby’s input and output……(and sleeping patterns)……for the first year. If only my college notes would have been detailed I’m sure Harvard would have recruited me. *When you finally throw that book in the basement and are finally free*
When you make it a whole month without visiting the pediatrician or some pediatric specialist.

Much worse than the pee in the eye but I haven’t experienced poop on the wall yet. LOL
