You know that thing where you reach into your purse for lip-gloss and pull out a pair of little boy’s underwear? Okay, fine, maybe you don’t, but this is a thing that happens to the rest of us. Or some of the rest of us. Or like, me. And then I spend an afternoon at the crossroads of pervy and well-prepared, and then I tell my husband I might need to go back to therapy, and then I write a bunch of other parents to see if this kind of things happens to them. And then I make that information public. Today, for your viewing pleasure: Random Sh*t Parents Found in Their Purses/ Man Bags/ Pockets. Because sometimes, therapy is best done in a group.

The girl at the check-out fished them out with a wooden stick and handed them to me. It was tough to pretend they weren’t mine but I happened to be shopping alone so I didn’t have a kid to laugh about it with. I think I’m on the “Person of Interest” board at Zehrs.

Kimberly commented on Feb 15 12 at 5:50 pmAfter a shopping trip to the Dollar tree with my daughter, who was about 14 months old at the time, I get home, only to find about 15 random items that she had thrown into the diaper bag….I had to drive all the way back to the store and explain to the manager what had happened. She was very understanding and thanked me for bringing the stuff back.
Samira commented on Feb 15 12 at 5:54 pmI once found a bean bag puppy in my purse which is amazing considering the size of my purse (TINY) my purse is about the size of a WIC check and you really have to shove one of them in there unless you fold em in half and even then its tough so how the puppy got in there no idea

Glenease commented on Feb 15 12 at 6:21 pmI usually find candy wrappers, crayons, restaurant kid menues, rocks, mushed flowers and kid jewlry stuck in my purse. But the worse offender is my husband. I keep telling him that I feel like I carry a purse mostly for his convinence instead of mine. I had to move to a smaller purse just to prevent him and our daughter from putting all their things into it.

Jana commented on Feb 15 12 at 6:45 pmafter reading this, I looked into my bag, which is a fairly small Animal from the Muppets head to begin with.Yeah, I’m THAT kind of mom. :) I found one of my 3 year old’s sock with a baby carrot in it. Then thankfully under that, my zebra striped flask of vodka.

My purse spilled out at Target the other day and in addition to the”normal” items one might carry, out came my rather large prescription bottle, a few random heart shaped rocks,, a C3PO pen and bubble blowing pipe made of pink and blue plastic…classic! “No thank you, I don’t need any help picking up all these seemingly un-related and bizarre objects that have just fallen out of my purse!” Thanks for sharing everyone!!
Melinda commented on Feb 17 12 at 3:40 pmThis post made me laugh because I just was looking for a pen in my purse and found crayons, a lego man flashlight, a binder clip and a half package of Reese Pieces. Other than the candy, which I recall was left over from bribing my son during his recent haircut, I don’t know where the rest came from.

Under the mound of used snotty tissues I found; 1 Rapunzel shoe, a half eaten lolly we couldn’t part with, what appears to be petals from various fake flowers, pipe cleaners, a slew of hair clips, and what looks like a head to a dinosaur or dragon.

Carolyn A commented on Feb 24 12 at 8:23 pmMy purse is also a diaper bag… But i try to clean it out when i go somewhere myself… Funny when your sitting in a room of adults when you pull out 3 binkys ( i have a 5 mth old and a 2 1/2 yr old so differnt sizes) 2 diapers, a pair of clothes that are too small for both girls, 8 lollipops and 10 crayons….. Plus a stuffed frog and rattle ball….. Guess i didnt do to well cleaning it out. Lol gotta love ypur kids tho. The best is to find a used diaper that wasnt just peed…. Yea that has also happened lol

In her diaper bag was a paper towel full of fried plantains, black nino bananas, and five or more dirty diapers. My friend laughed so hard at me, but she has an almost two year old so she understood.

Imagine my suprise when I put my arm through it and a pair of Bob the Builder underwear fell out. My co-workers loved it :)

I was trying to get the things on my list, so hastily I said what is it son? He pointed to the lady next to me and sound in a loud voice, ” I want to touch her boobs” I never ignored my son again.
