snow sf bay 300x300 San Francisco Snow: Sorry Kids, No Snow Ball Fights Today! What Happened? All this week there were rumors that there would be snow on Saturday morning in San Francisco. And who was the most excited? The kids. They were looking forward to Saturday morning as if it was Christmas, Halloween and the last day of school all rolled up into one.

But on Saturday morning my own little one jumped out of bed, ran to the front door, flung it open and loudly declared, “Hey, where is that snow you promised me!” But it wasn’t me, who gave her false hope. I was just the messenger from countless news sources who predicted “snow on Saturday.”

It was to be the first snow storm in San Francisco in 35 years. With news media everywhere reporting the impending snow fall. But the winds took the rain away and although it was cold, all the elements for snow did not merge over the city.  There were reports of a little bit of a snow flurry on our highest areas like Twin Peaks but nothing like the kids had hoped.

Alas, guess it’s time to pack them up and take them to Tahoe.
